What Members Thought

Martin is a difficult author to read, not because his books are on the long side (though not, perhaps, when the overall genre is taken into account), but because they are dense. They are filled with personalities and things and emotions running at full boil and you, or at least I, want to scream at just about everyone at least once.

I rolled right into this after finishing a Game of Thrones, and enjoyed this perhaps more than the first book. Very quick read, well, relative to it being 950 pages-ish. Particularly enjoyed Tyrion's story line as well as the couple twists the plot took. Only wished there would have been more of Robb in it. Looking forward to Book 3 but taking a short break to read a couple different books in between.
