So this was a great book, and it was hard to put down, but I don't know if I'll keep reading this series. I know that some people are cruel, and that often the bad guys win, but I just can't handle every character to whom I grow attached being dealt with harshly or ended terribly. I'm really curious about what happens to Arya, Bran, and even Tyrion, but what's the point if they are probably just all manipulated and then murdered in some horrifying manner? Also, I know that winter is coming, and

I'd like to start with; I found this book through goodreads in a discussion. People were raving about the book, so I decided to check it out.
I think this is the best fantasy book that I've ever read. It would take me an hours to go describe how much I liked this book. It's well written but too long and then to think that there are five or six more of these tomes in this series is just too much for me. I'm not one of those patient and loyal readers that Amazon.com mentions. A Game of Thrones would be a much stronger book if the story were told from half the points of view. Basically the author could have done away from the chapters from the women's point of view as they are the least interesting and least believable of all the chapters. That would probably cut

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is complex and emotionally captivating. Martin is one of those dark and cynical authors, I can tell already. Every moment of light and joy is eventually eclipsed by darkness and sorrow. But his characters are strong and dynamic, I look to hope that they will rise from ashes.

Feeling numb after i read it.. Did i love it? Did i hate it? A little bit of both i guess.. Can't put it down, and for sure will read the next book, but for now will switch to something lighter..
Just don't get too attached with the characters, you might feel a bit heart broken like i did.. :p ...more
