Oh dear. Many of my friends love this trilogy, and as I'm not one to discard recommendations from my people, I was really looking forward to this.
I couldn't be more disappointed. The premise is great - I love Harry Potter, and I like what I know of Narnia (which isn't much as I've only seen 2 of the movies and never read the books) enough to be excited by the blurb. Also, I've been a fan of boarding school stories since I was 10 years old (thanks, Enid Blyton), so I was all set for a joyful ride ...more

This is a confusing book to rate because it's definitely a four star book, but that doesn't mean I liked it. It made me think and feel and hate and want to scream and it was an excellent book, but I'm not sure if that means that I liked it in the strictest sense.
