I found this book really interesting - particularly the view of the roles of religion and science in civilization. I was frustrated that some things were left unresolved (the Old Jew, what happened to Francis' illumination, etc). I also find myself wanting to know more about what happened in between the three chapters.

I read this book the first time in seventh grade and it blew my mind. I think I had to read it about three times before I could wrap my mind around it. My mother gave this copy to me a couple Christmases ago as it's just a must have!
