A more than adequate conclusion to Hyperion. Not so enamored with all the quasi-religious intermingling with dead Earth poets thing. It seems Simmons could have delivered his commentary on the dangers of blindly accepting god-like technology without this whole poetry angle. That bothered me more than the religious tie-ins.
Still though, Simmons is a very skilled story teller, and that is hard to find these days.

I just wanted to take a break from Hyperion and all that. I fell out of love and really had to slog my way through the end of the last one and the beginning of this. I got about 100 pages in and decided I wanted to read something else. I'll come back to it.
