What Members Thought
The first book was just shy of bad; the second was just shy of good. I would give this a 2.5 if I could. There are so many wincey, eye-roll-y moments, so much drug-induced gibberish shrouding any substance a sober person can track, and so little actual character-building. Yet, I'm still curious about what happens next. Let's see if I have the stamina to make it through the next book.

I listened to this one, as I had with the first Dune book, but man did I struggle to follow the plot. I thought the bit about the ghola was interesting, as well as the the outcome of stone burner, but the political intrigue was very difficult to keep track of, bogged down, on audio, by all of the Dune-specific terminology that I had a hard time understanding. End of the book leaves things in an interesting place for book three, but still, this one, in and of itself, wasn't much fun to get throug

Not in the same class as the first book, but still way better than the prequels. This book itself feels unfinished, like it's a way of getting paul out of the main picture so we can be ready for the next book.
