What Members Thought
I enjoyed the second Harry Potter book much more than the first. The action was more dramatic and I have forgotten most of the movies, although reading the book triggered images from the movie. I liked that the book was much darker than the movie, which were a bit too light. The depression that overtook the school really resonated in the book, not so much in the movie.

borrowed from valerie. better than the first -- although "bated breath" made another special guest appearance. the thing that's interesting for me is that i'd always heard these are fantasy novels. in fact, they seem to be detective novels that just happen to include phoenixes and magic wands.
