In the beginning the only reason I read this book is because I wanted to see the movie and I don't see movies based on books with out reading them first!
I was immediately hooked by the first few pages. Uncle Vernon's initial ignorance and then realization of the Wizarding celebrations occurring on the street were hysterical and I had to keep reading.

I thought the book was very well written and a solid story line. My biggest issues with the story is that it is very predictable and I don't feel as if the story is very original at all. I also don't think that it is holding up as an all time classic. Not in the category of Narnia or Lord of The Rings at least.
