Wow, I was pretty impressed by this book. Depending on the mood of the reader, the ending was fantastic.
When the movie ends, the book is really only halfway done.
Plus, Tolkien covers the history of the Elves, Dwarfs, Men, Mordor, and all the topics within the books. I enjoyed how he waited until the end to wrap this up, rather than trying to put it into the book. I think it would have dragged it out too much.

This book was marvelous, and I loved the ending, but my God am I glad I'm done with it! I think I'll read it again though in a couple of years...
