Wonderful conclusion to the greatest trilogy ever written. The scene at Mount Doom is absolutely great.

One of my favorite books. The language is exquisite: "of rare excellence of production or execution, as works of art or workmanship". I could feel the profound majesty of the climax (when the King returns), deep within my soul. I don't think there are many books out there that can compare to this series in areas of story, character, and even the words themselves. The language is beautiful to read, almost like reading the bible. Tolkien was a master. ...more
