i had forgotten essentially everything about this book; now i can foresee rereading this trilogy just to dig back into two tower. the ents! the riders! never-ending action. everything about tolkien as a writer seems here much looser, freer. it's fun and funny in a way that fellowship doesn't quite get to. as exciting and interesting as book III is (with its battle-scenes that spawned a tragillion battle-scenes), the real meat, perhaps of the whole trilogy, lies in book IV - the voyage of sam, go ...more
