An excellent book... I can see why some people are offended it bye the religions part of the book. With that said it is an excellent book...
I feel that anything good can be evil... and HUMANS with to much power has this happen to them...
It also speaks huge to some of the sins of today as greed...
I think that people with an open mind and look past others opinions and give this book a go they will find that they will like it...

I really liked this book. I felt the series suffered as it went on but the first book was excellent. Very imaginative and rich story telling. I just feel cheated with the last book the Amber Spyglass.
Slow to start and difficult in the beginning to get into, but by two thirds of the way through I couldn't put it down. Definatly worth a read.
