What Members Thought
This series is astonishing in its scope. An exploration of death, soul, and power, the three books as a whole are heroic, imaginative, profound, and beautiful (in a terrifying sort of way). This first book is not the best in the series, though. That honor must be given to the second book, The Subtle Knife. Overall, this was a good read. I liked the storyline and the writing was very well done and descriptive. I was planning on reading the next two until I started doing some research on the topic, and was kind've scared off in the process. I look forward to the movie, should be entertaining at least.

Philip Pullman write a wonderful adventure. He takes you into a world where everything is different; yet he keeps a keen eye on the present. I'm looking forward to the rest of the trip with Lyra and friends.
