I only made it to page 100-ish before I had to stop. It is quite unsettling and disturbing. I enjoy a little sensuality, but not this. Somehow I had the false idea that the descriptions would not be as graphic as they were. I actually enjoyed the “style” of writing, just not the content.
Bleh. I started this book once, set it down, forgot about it, and had to start again. Which was unfortunate because it didn't catch me that well to begin with. It did pull it together towards the end, and I actually remember most of it now, but I've yet to pick up the rest of the series. Trilogy. Whatever. That's how much I care.

A little confusing because I was reading it on my Kindle, and so couldn't flip back to find who someone was...but I really enjoyed it anyway. Definitely not for everyone, but her proclivities don't bother me in the least. *very evil grin*

Awesome book! Jacqueline has a way of writing that draws you in. I wasn't sure I would like it, but boy was I in for a surprise. If you love meaty stories that take you on a wonderful journey...check out all of her books.

A pretty good novel, an interesting take on court life. Give it a try if you enjoy novels set in fantasy that revolve around the stories of individuals that are of different social statuses.
