4.0 stars. This is big, epic fantasy at its absolute best. Brandon Sanderson is a phenomenal writer and even at almost 900 pages, this book was rarely boring (though there were a few slow parts). Great characters, a very unique and compelling magic system, unique and well designed "other races" and superb world-building. Again, big, epic fantasy does not get much better than this. Highly recommended!!
