I've had the entire Cecelia and Kate series on my shelves for years. In hardback. The recent audio book releases have been a charming reminder of how much fun these books are. The pace is leisurely, and the action never rises much above Georgette Heyer's comedy of manners style despite the enchanted chocolate pot. But if you are in the mood for gentle humor, sweet romance, and few spells, these audio books are a great way to wind down at the end of the day.

I've been waiting to read this book for ages, having much enjoyed
Mairelon the Magician
by Patricia C. Wrede, and its sequel; although they share a similar setting they are not so far as I know connected.

Normally the regency period gives me a serious pain in the neck. But these books are a fun series that doesn't take itself too seriously. I even laughed aloud a few times, always a bonus. Probably would also be enjoyable to one of those rabid Austenites.
