what a read! although i cant say that this was a five-star novel, this was definitely a solid four--if not a 4.5. there's very little that i could gripe about, but i cant honestly say that this is something "novel" or monumental. but it is a VERY fun read.

The tone of "Old Man's War" reminds me a bit of "Starship Troopers", but it is light years more inventive. Lots of great entertainment all around.

Written very much in Heinlein's style, it starts strong, has an interesting viewpoints, and the ending -- while not as strong as the beginning or middle -- is nicely done.
Not a great book, it is nonetheless a pleasant read, and I recommend it for all you Heinlien buffs. ...more
