This was a great book. It was a real page turner that I couldn't put down at all. This book could have made me stay up all night and call in sick just so I could finish it. It's one of the most horrific books I've ever read. And definitely the most engrossing.
I found the first part of the book was harder to swallow because of how bad they all have it and how messed up a world they live in. Especially that it was my first Dystopian novel. The second part was very interesting and extremely captiv ...more

There is so much hype about the Hunger Games and they turn into a movie as well. It's wow how everyone loves them that much. So i really wanted to try them before the movie comes out and because i wanted to have an opinion about them after all.
Firstly, i need to say it's the first dystopian book i read so i can't compare it with something like it. It took me some time to get used to both the writing and that kind of world. The writing reminded me more of a diary than the usual first person POV w ...more

I've heard so much about this series and wondered what all the fuss was about, so I finally decided to jump into it head first and find out for myself. I'm glad that I did.
"The Hunger Games" is an amazingly gripping tale of a young girl that takes her sister's place in a deadly game. I was mesmerized not only by the game, but the fantastic characters. Katniss is one character that I cannot get out of my mind; she's everything you could ever want in a heroine. The other participants in the game a ...more

Wow. I was barely able to put this book down for a second after the first few pages got me completely hooked. Suzanne Collins narrative here has an immediacy to it that, when combined with the very dramatic life-or-death plot, is incredibly compelling. It's entertaining, and incredibly disturbing all at once. If this was merely a good read, I would have given it 4 stars, but they say great art leaves you changed after you experience it... and this book definitely did that. Suzanne Collins has, w

So. I had a push-and-pull relationship with this book. I had heard so much about this book that I just had to get it. But i have huge collection of unread books and this wasn't at the top. However after several months i finally convinced myself to pick it up. 5 days ago, in the morning, I did, i've read barely half page and something came up, so i had to put it down. Then later, i started again from the beginning, i've read 2 pages and someone interrupted me...again. I was like, "GOD! The big da

There are no words to describe this book! No way to capture just how amazing it is.
This book is so unlike anything else I have read, it is so powerful and gripping and incredible in every sense of the word.
Katniss truly is the girl on fire. She is powerful and strong and a survivor. I admire her so much (even though she can be annoyingly dense at times)
This book had me crying, gasping, and gaping in amazement. I could not put it down!

I didn't expected much from this book, to be honest. Maybe because everybody was so crazy about it... But in the end I became just as crazy as them about it! We can just hope our future won't be like the one discribed in the book! Even so this book and the other two from the series, actually, are now one of my favourites!

Well, i liked this book, a lot. I had heard about it from a lot of people so thought id read it to see what all the fuss was about and now? Im completely hooked and waiting for the second book to arrive! I really liked the main charecter Katniss Evergreen and thought she was a easy charecter to connect to as well which made me connect with her more. The main boy, Peeta, wasn't too bad either. He wasn't a natural survivor like Katniss but he adapts well. My favourite charecter in the book though,
