Are you a fan of Greek Mythology ? Love to read the tale of Persephone and Hades ? The one where Persephone found herself captured by Hades and then after a certain amount of time decided whether her life was to spent in the Underworld with Hades or on Mount Olympus. Reading Everneath by Brodi Ashton reminded me alot of the books "Abandon" by Meg Cabot and "Goddess of Spring" by PC Cast as they both contain their version of a contemporary rendition of the Greek mythology of Persephone and Hades. ...more

It definitely had many elements that have been seen in YA paranormal fiction books before with the supernatural and a love triangle in it, but even though it did have those elements in it, it was still different and unique with its own story to tell without having me rolling my eyes while reading this saying "oh here we ago again. I have to start this off by saying Everneath is amazing. The love story between Jack and Nikki is beautiful and sweet. It is impossible not to root for them. Jack never gives up hope for Nikki even when she literally disappears off the face of the earth and they have loved each other since childhood.

Nikki Beckect decided to leave this world behind, along with all the hurting and her troubles she decides to escape to the Everneath where she is together with Cole for a hundred years, but the face of a boy keeps hunting her and pulling her back into her world, when given the choice to return home or stay forever in the Everneath.
Nikki chooses to come back home, even if it means spending forever trapped in a horrible faith, it will all be worth it if she can see the boy with the brown 4.5 stars

But coming back to her old life isn't what she hoped it would be, after being gone for six months in the human world about her disappearance grew, even his father doesn't know how to deal with her, but the worst part is that Cole the one that took her to the Everneath, the place where immortals live, and has decided not to give her up and bring her back, but even if he is an immortal it doesn't mean he is a patient guy.

The story of Everneath starts a little bit confusing and weird, but it's a weird and confusing sense that is necessary to really get into the story for it is hard to explain everything that happened to Nikki in a way that you can't always explain a movie that you just saw and make sense to the other person listening, but when that other person sees the movie he or she goes ahhh so that's what you where talking about.
I love Nikki she is a strong heroine that owns up to her mistakes and fights for her life to come back to normal. In this book we can see Nikki grow as she gets back all her human feelings and the plot moves around forcing her to make choices, if you like strong heroines this is a good book for you.
Even thought you get the feeling that you know what the worst case scenario would be, you don't get the sensation of inminante danger or disaster, but that doesn't mean that you feel the need to put the book down and forget about it, no Brodi Ashton found a way to make this story interesting in a way that it will keep on calling you once you put it down.
Everneath is a beautiful story worth reading, just keep in mind you have to get throw a beginning that can be a somewhat confusing and you will be good. Its a good book even if there weren't a second part for this book, if it were a stand alone it's worth reading.

I really liked this book. It is a great YA paranormal read and includes quite a bit of mythology as well.
When I started Everneath, I had a TON of questions. I don't read much about myths or know much about the Underworld, but Brodi Ashton provided answers to my questions throughout the book. I wasn't waiting until the very end of the book to get all of my questions answered nor was I able to figure out exactly how it would all play out early on.

I got this book out of whim and I thought I would regret buying it. I didn't even know what the book was about but when I started reading it, I got hooked! I flew through it and by the time I reached the ending, it got me crying and violent. hahaha! I wanted to strangle one particular character. I can't wait to dive in to the next book :D ...more
