Thoughts:

First off that cover is so beautiful, it gives me Shivers! (Ok, a little cheesy.)

I can see why this book is really hot right now. It is pretty sweet, I even went as far to buy the hard copy edition. (Which I only do for books I can't wait to have, and then I still don't buy them hard back.)
That was kind of a big leap for me, I had read Stiefvater's Lament and thought it was a cheep rip off of Wicked Lovely, or Tithe. So I put a lot of faith in this one.

"Shiver" made me shiver in the worst possible way.

Sadly I just wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. I'm not an overly critical reader and I understanding that not everyone has the same idea as to what makes a book interesting but "Shiver" really let me down. Having said that I feel it's my obligation to warn other readers about the blandness of this book so they're not expecting a vivid and wonderfully told story. Well I knew I really need to get on top this. I feel like I'm the last person in the world to start reading this. I was a little apprehensive since I HATED Jacob from Twilight and people say that if you're on Team Jacob from Twilight then you'll love this book. That may be true, but I didn't even notice, mostly because Sam didn't remind me of Jacob at all - he wasn't an a$$ all the time like Jacob. Yes, I said it! Have at me Jacob fans!

I love Stiefvater's writing style from previously reading La Well I knew I really need to get on top this. I feel like I'm the last person in the world to start reading this. I love Stiefvater's writing style from previously reading Lament and Ballad, so I wasn't disappointed in that area and I absolutely ADORE Sam and Grace! They're definitely one of the cutest and one of my favorite YA couples. The author has absolutely no problem with starting out right away with the action, and not I'm not sure if I agree or disagree with this. But it was cute how they've always loved each other, even when Sam wasn't human and therefore couldn't even form thoughts and Grace only knew him as a wolf. But he was HER wolf... Hmm (heavy sigh). I'm not sure their relationship is exactly believable though. This takes love at first sight to a whole new level that I couldn't really agree with at first. Overall I'm so happy I started this series. It had been sitting on my shelf for a while and I finally bit the bullet and never turned back.

**SPOILERS!!!**
So Sam is cured in the end... Weird? Yes, definitely. But the truth is, it was the kind of perfect you wanted, and in a way this series could have been a single book. Grace is human, Sam is now human, happily ever after. But since I've already read Linger before doing this review, I now see not everything is not as it seems. How about we say I only read this one. I think this really is a book that could easily stand alone.

I was sad that Jack died though, even if he was creating problems. I want to say that Isabel was being selfish because she didn't care what happened if Sam died from the disease they were going to inject into both boys to induce a fever to get rid of the "disease", but at the same time I would have been as desperate to save my brother as she was. And at whatever cost. It's just too bad that, according to her, her plan worked for the wrong person and now she thinks she killed her brother.

I can't really write much more simply because, well, I don't have much else to say. It's a beautiful love story (one we wish we all had) and the guy is perfect and pretty much ideal but in a subtle way. Stiefvater couldn't have painted a better world and I can't wait to see what happens in Forever! ...more

Well instantly I was drawn to this book as it's all about Werewolves and I love wolves so I thought I'd give it a go.
The second thing was the gorgeous book cover oh and then the dedication, "For Kate, because she cried" I thought well if it's teary I've got to read it lol
The book is split between Sam and Grace which I think is interesting rather than just one person's perspective. The use of poetry within it was brilliant as well. Rilke's poetry really linked in well with the storyline and the ...more

Rarely do I give a book a full five stars, but when it captures me and takes me to where the author means for me to be, it deserves the 5 stars!!!! I didn't think that this book would be that great but my daughther liked it so I figured I would give it a try, and I am sooooo glad I did!!
