Loved it :) I love Maggie Stiefvater's writing style; it's very captivating. The characters were very likable, too. I also liked the fact that it wasn't the typical werewolf story – it was more creative. There were times when I thought the relationship between Sam and Grace was a little too perfect; while they were adorable together, I think it would have been a little more realistic if they'd had an argument or two … But overall, I thought it was a great and original story.

A sweet story of young star-crossed love that also manages to be creepy as hell.
Seriously, where were the YA books like this when I was in high school!!
Aside from graphic depictions of what it must be like to be chewed on by wolves, what upset me the most was the main character's parents. They were just awful! Not abusive, just criminally selfish, immature and neglectful. Not that I am a perfect parent myself, but I like to think I would at least know if my daughter were...you know...doing it wi ...more

This book started out so strong and I was thinking that I'd love it. But it sludges on and on about the romance to Grace and Sam, which is fine and would have been nice if it hadn't been so long. I actually got bored or it and it did come across a little awkward.
The ending was fairly good but I did sorta see some of it coming from the beginning.

This might be more of a 3.5/5. It was really nice and sweet in the Matched and Die for Me sort of way. And it had a great ending. I am an all or nothing kind of girl when it comes to endings, and luckily it gave me everything.

Another story of a nerdy, basically friendless girl (her 2 bestest friends seemed to be friends of convenience) falling for a paranormal boy. I didn't hate the story, but it was too slooooww and I didn't love the romance.
I finished the series and in hind sight would I read it again? Maybe. There were some good moments (like the 2nd book), but overall a disappointment of a YA romance and werewolf series. I expected much better given the high ratings.

This is your typical young adult romance with a mystical element to the characters. I enjoyed it, although some of the ideas or details concerning the characters seem to have appeared in other books I have read. It ended kind of abruptly, but I guess that is why it is the first in The Wolves of Mercy Falls series, leaving questions to be answered in later books.
Grace is attacked by wolves as a child and is fascianted by the wolves in the woods ever since. Esp. the one with the golden eyes. Sam is that wolf and after years of watching each other they finally connect and their lives change.
An interesting take on the werewolf genre. Where temperature causes the change and some very interesting characters as a result.

This was one of the best books I've read this year! Grace and Sam have captured my heart in a way I haven't experienced since Twilight and TMI.

I really liked this book. Read it in one day. Can't wait for Linger. Bought all of her other books because of this one. Liked them all.
