Real or not real?

Last night, I finally finished Mockingjay, the last book of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I didn’t write a review immediately after that, because it’s been one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride and my thoughts are quite cluttered then. I loved this series, the end of the book was prefect, I hope the movies don't disappoint when they come out. I loved it so much!

Well I have just finished The Hunger Games series, The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. I loved them! I really did love these books and would recommend them to everyone. Well I have just finished The Hunger Games series, The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. I loved them! I really did love these books and would recommend them to everyone. Parts of the book, those that had less romance were a bit dry for me, but it was worth it to get to the other parts. When I got to the end of the book I cried and cried tears of happiness. I am not sure if it is the pregnancy or what but the end of the third book was just perfect.

Now that I have talked to others who loved this series here are my thoughts: most like the third book the least, and I would have to agree. It is still worth the read, but the first two were better. Many were upset by some of the deaths that occurred, Prim in particular. I was not so much upset about her death, I feel it added necessary elements to the story, but I guess they could have been added in other ways. Either way, the only death I was really upset about, and felt was completely unnecessary was Finnick. I loved him and he had just gotten married. It really wasn't fair and I don't think it added anything necessary to the story, where as Prim's death at least made a domino effect occur which might not have happened otherwise. Some people were also upset about what the Capitol did to Peeta, I didn't like it while I was reading it, but I am okay with it now because he got better. So I have since come to appreciate this added complexity to this character’s personal story. Moreover, I loved the books and I wish they weren't over. But the ending was perfect, and in my opinion Peeta and Katniss were always truly meant to be. Gale is great and all, but not right for Katniss like Peeta is. Moreover, I wasn't set on this opinion until the end of the last book. I am loving re-living this story in group role-plays and really hope the movies are great. What I hope is that the movies don't turn out like Twilight, in that the first two kind of sucked and they have since gotten better as the actors improved. I hope The Hunger Games movies start out great and stay that way. ...more

This book really is amazing. Catching fire was the first book I read among the three and I didn't find it interesting enough as I hoped but this book really is likable. And I don't know why but I like the character Plutarch. And Finnick... I cried when he died. And the part when Peeta says 'you love me. Real or not real?' and Katniss said 'Real'. Yikes. I read the page again and again. Loved it!
Touching, romance, action, suspense ...has most about everything. Recommend it to everyone ...more

When a book makes you cry at the end, you know it's a good book. It tugged on my heart strings like nothing ever has before. Some could have predicted the outcome, and I was close, but this book was written in such a way that even if I had predicted the ending, I would still be in tears.
There were some parts in the book that I thought could have been concentrated on a bit more. But then as you read on you realise there are more important occurrences to focus on (the bits that pull on your heart ...more

Shelves: favorites

This amazing book had the exciting action that i like about books. Suzanne Collins did a good job in finishing the series with a bang. I was sad in spots that Prim, Finnick, and a few others died.
