Every bit as charming and heartwarming as I've been told all these years by those who've recommended it. I am glad I waited till I got this one in audio though, because Sean Crisden does a spectacular job performing it!

This was a good read. Zachary Weston 17 is having a bad Christmas he is homeless sleeping on a bench in front of a church his parents kicked him out because he is gay. When a rookie cop Ben Hamilton finds him he offers to help him. Ben takes him home and his mother Donna helps him heal she was very kind and supportive. This was an emotional read that I liked. The love story between these two wasn't rushed and Zach has time to grow up and heal. Zach gets a job and starts taking classes. When his ...more

It was so easy to read through that I bumped it up but really some of it was too easy and lucy, Christmas stories should be like that though. Also the build up to the relationship takes a long time... years, because Ben thinks that Zach needs to grow up. I think it lent to their relationship but it is thrown at you at the end. Until then it is a nice Christmas loner finds a family, like While You Were Sleeping, except Zach is in a really bad way and needs this family in more ways than one. ...more

There was something about this book that made me want to read it. I was caught as soon as I read the book blurb. It just sounded so sad and yet uplifting. It was too.

I hated what happened to Zach. I am so glad that Ben was the guy he was. They were both amazing in their own way.

I have read several books on people being thrown out of their home for being gay. It is hard to know that this happens, and people get away with it. I don't understand how anyone can do that to their own child. I think th ...more

I really enjoyed this book. Zach is very young in the beginning, but the author manages to draw the romance out (despite the quick read nature of the book) in a way that kept it from feeling like Ben was taking advantage. I didn’t quite cry, but I did tear up at times. I can see myself reading this again sometime. The only reason it’s not a five is, because it is so quick, it loses a little intensity in the time jumps and there could be more sexual tension between Ben and Zach. I would definitel ...more

I enjoyed the story. The end was ehh...glossed over a couple a years. But the beginning was good a start. It was sweet. The gloss over started, just about when I started to get into it.
