Prompts: Not set in Europe, Non-titled hero
PLOT: By day, Frank Tripp uses his ingenuity and knowledge of the law to serve his clients of high New York society. By night, he does the same thing only using more discrete means especially when it comes to the daughters of one of his most important clients not to mention one of the most attractive, intelligent women he's ever encountered.

I had heard so many good things about Joanna Shupe's Uptown Girls but I kept delaying reading it. I was unsure whether it would actually be good or it would be one of those anti-climatic pieces. If my rating did not give it away, I really liked the book.
Let's get over with the things I did not like. The thing I hated the most about this book was Marion's nickname "Mamie". Also, as a regency reader, my head kept comparing the American society against the English society (from my limited perspect ...more

I'm loving this refreshing series of historical romances taken place during the Gilded Age in New York. Fiercely independent, Mamie is doing what she can to help the less fortunate and is putting herself in dangerous situations to do so. Frank is a lawyer and a self-made man and meets Mamie when he helps her out of a jam and the sparks fly. She intrigues him and he finds he has to make some hard decisions if he wants to have her in his life. I LOVE how Frank loves her. Their chemistry is tangibl

Oh boy... boy oh boy oh boy....
The chemistry between the characters was oh so bland , the banter (if that's what passes for banter now) was bland , some good potential but overall I just couldn't care.
The Greene sisters are like textbook stereotype versions of non conformist not-like-other-womenzies nu uh! which if done well can be ,maybe, palatable but for me, this book didn't do the job there. Better non con ...more

The Rogue of Fifth Avenue was such a great story. I loved the characters and the wild and hot fun in it. I’m usually not a big fan of historical fiction but the romance in this was funny and so so hot. The pick pocketing, the return of family and then the show of how low class and the upper class are always treated differently and then of course the jealousy. Definitely want to see if there’s more as is series continues

This is my first book by Ms. Shupe, but I don’t expect it to be my last! I rarely read US historical books (not for any particular reason), so this was a fun change. This book had so many feels and I enjoyed getting to know these characters…I’m looking forward to the next two sisters’ finding their happily ever after!
