80% of this deserves 3 stars
and 20% deserves 4 ....so what to rate it overall? I'm having a good streak with new releases and feeling benevolent so four it is!

Is it a coincidence that those percentages match up with 80% of this book features Kimber and only 20% Gwen? I think not. Its not a secret that I have a hard on for Bel&Gwen and Kimber unfortunately is left behind.

We finally have a harem. Sort of.
Between 3 dudes who love each other and find themselves a woman they all love too.
I don't see how this is a harem. STILL.
I'd like to have a deep discussion about this. It's not like there's a hot Australian wolf shifter, a rock solid, more-muscle-than-skin with a troubled past Dragon, and serious accented Alpha all falling head ov ...more

3.5 stars. I feel like, if you’ve made it this far, I don’t need to include the content warnings that I included in my other reviews of this series.

It is super misleading that the twins keep telling Kimber that she has a harem (it’s totally a ménage; everyone involved has at least 2 partners), but I’m glad that Gwen doesn’t have the harem because this way Bel doesn’t have to share. I have hated Dorian since he raped Elex, and the way he treated Kimber after she stopped him from killing Savion m 3.5 stars. I feel like, if you’ve made it this far, I don’t need to include the content warnings that I included in my other reviews of this series.

I think part of the reason that I was able to enjoy this book as much as I did was that Dorian and Kimber don’t really interact a ton in this one. Of course, that brings me to the issue of Aiko. Wtf is going on here. I said in a previous review that I’m really not sure how important soul mates are in this world, and that’s true now more than ever. Also, Kimber totally didn’t come clean about him to Roran and Rilen when she was explaining her new situation, and that’s a pretty big issue: (view spoiler). Speaking of which, where tf was Aiko during the cave-sex scene? Is Kimber just going to drag him around with her and make him listen to her have sex with other people? Wtf.

Also, I was really confused by what was going on in S’Kir. For some reason, I had thought that the spine separated S’Kir from the human world (a physical barrier on the S’Kir side, a meta-physical barrier on the human-world side), so I thought that the vampires on the other side of the spine were Gwen’s vampires. I was so confused. I thought that maybe the timelines weren’t parallel after all and that Niallan had somehow taken over everything and changed his name to Savion. Anyway. I guess that’s my fault for skimming through the S’Kir chapters, but I hate them, so I’m not really sorry.

Now to my safe place: Gwen’s story. It’s really kind of messed up that I’m more comfortable with the murderous couple, but it is what it is. I absolutely LOVED the scene of Bel getting sick after the Other Woman stuff, but I wish I understood what the exact cause was. Did he just find the act that disgusting? It’s been hinted that Bel isn’t really druid or vampire, and we know that Bel and Gwen have a potential soul bond, so I kind of wonder whether there’s a species thing that makes cheating result in sickness after the bond strengthens. Also, Imma need Bel to hurry up and explain the motivation behind certain violent actions: (view spoiler).

Side note, I really like how Gwen’s relationship with Cato is developing all sneakily. I totally wouldn’t buy it if they had one heart to heart and were suddenly close, so this is wonderful.

Life of a reader can be difficult sometimes, especially for those prone to really falling in love with a book, series, characters, etc. My husband is able to just hop from book to book. Gore, gore, gore, gore, gooooore...then fun in the very last part of the story. No really. Unfortunately, the most fun did happen at the very end. Oh and twist here and there, too. But those stuffs are given in every read from the author so...Anyway, I admit I feel so stupid to not connect the dots for a certain twist.
