Reread 5 August 2019: I really enjoyed my re-read of this one on audiobook! It's detailed, descriptive and slower paced than a lot of YA fantasy, but I really enjoyed how it took the time to tell the story. I've heard that the second book is a lot faster paced, but this one definitely felt like a set up book.

I actually liked this much more than I thought I would.
Very mysterious at the end.
Tea finds out she's a bone witch when she accidentally bring her dead brother back.
Going to Kion to learn how to control her ability she learn of other asha like her with different abilities.
Interesting to hear her tell her story to a Bard. She's telling her past as her present plays out right in front of the bard. But its mysterious to how and why was she exile to this bone yard. What happened in her past?

Boring and bland.
DNF at page 90.

I really liked the sort of memoirs of a geisha twist at the beginning. Plus it was just really interesting
