This book is two stories in one: the development & building of the 1893 World Fair in Chicago, and the story of H. H. Holmes, one of America's first known serial killers, who used the World Fair to commit his crimes. I loved this book; I think this period and series of events in American history aren't widely known. I read that Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese are attempting to bring this story as a limited series, which would be AMAZING!!!

I have been meaning to read this book for a long time and it did not disappoint. Larson is one of my favorite nonfiction writers because of his ability to turn real people into interesting characters. This was no exception.
