There was so much that I didn't know about the lives of Anne Morrow Lindbergh and Charles Lindbergh before I read this book. It was one of those historical novels that had me searching for more information about events such as the flights that Anne and Charles took together, the details of their honeymoon, and the tragic kidnapping of their son. I always enjoy books that help me learn more in this way, and this well told story of Anne's life certainly did that. I'm not sure I would agree entirel

We’re all familiar with the story of Charles Lindbergh and his place in history, but what of his wife, Anne Morrow Lindbergh? We can barely recall her accomplishments in aviation history, as those accomplishments were overshadowed by her husband and Amelia Earhart. Many people don’t know Anne was the first American woman to earn a first-class glider pilot’s license, or that without Anne, Charles would not have been able to achieve all his successes.

A well-researched fictional account of Anne Morrow and Charles Lindbergh. I have seen the Spirit of St. Louis at the Smithsonian and a replica in St. Louis. I knew about his famous flight, the kidnapping, and Anne being a writer. I was telling a friend of mine and her reaction was he was a Nazi. I do find it interesting how he is remembered.

It took me a full month to get through this. It was a very slow listen/read. And yet despite its lumbering cadence, I learned so much about the Lindbergh family. It was an enjoyable way to get a glimpse of the strong woman Anne Lindbergh was. I'll have to pick up her Gift of the Sea sometime soon.
