I like stories centered around a strong female character, and Katniss is a warrior with an independent mind. There has been so much hype about this book and movie that I was fully prepared to be disappointed, but it exceeded my expectations, and I found myself unable to put the book down. All the characters, even those in supporting roles, are interesting and multi-dimensional, and the action is exciting and well-paced. In addition, the story explores some important themes - Katniss is strong an ...more

I enjoyed this book but if 1/2 stars were available would have given 3 and 1/2 stars but only because I dont like books that you have to read the entire series to feel you have finally got any kind of conclusion to the story. I absolutely loved this book. The plot, secrets, events, everything. Although it is sad about all the deaths. I can't wait to see the movie and read the next book. ...more

Of course this book is amazing! I had to see what all the hype was about and I wasn't disappointed. Needless to say I don't really have to give a huge explaination of the book, so I'll just give you a little review. I'd have to say that it suprised me because I'd seen the movie first then read the book. I think that the details are wonderful. Some of the crazy creepy moments make you feel like you're right there with her/them. I'd say it's well worth the read and not at all a waste of time. ...more

What an interesting read. I could barely put it down once it started. I really liked the backstory with Katniss and Peetra and I had hoped for a happy ending for both of them and Rue, despite the way the games were set up. I liked the way this book ended so I'm eager to read the rest of the series. ...more
