It was a good book. I did not live in the south, but I feel that it was representative of the time. The book takes you through a range of emotions. I would encourage you to read it.

Currently reading for Gender in Contemporary Lit class.I loved the developing friendships between the women and how they discovered they had more in common than they thought.

This was an awesome book. Stockett did an excellent job of capturing the building tension of the time. This book has made me want to now read "To Kill a Mockingbird" which the author references. Hope the movie does it justice. Excellent read. ...more
