A twenty-two year old girl who works for the New York Times finds a diary in some discarded trunks. She searches and finds the author, Florence Wolfson. The diary is kept from 1929 - 1934. The two meet in the end, Florence then being 90. So good.

I love the idea of this book and was really excited to read it. However, I was disappointed in the execution. I wish instead of telling Florence's story that it would have developed in how she found out the details of the story. Ms. Koppel doesn't contribute any of the memorable quotes for me - that was done by Florence. I might like the 90 something year old Florence but I didn't like the one I was introduced to me in her teens and early 20s. The experimenting with bisexuality didn't bother me ...more
