I'm not a bit Bronte fan - I enjoyed Jane Eyre more. However, Villette is much better than Wuthering Heights. I overall enjoyed the plot, but at times it seemed as if it would never end. We are also suppose to like Graham, but him not recognizing Lucy really makes me wonder if he really is a nice person.

I love that Villette ends in such an unsettled manner. I love books and authors who piss off their readers. Although it is pretty clear to me that M Paul died, which is certsinly sad for the lonely Lucy, the happiness of her future lies in the school of her own, which had been the wildest dream for her future.
