I found One Summer America, 1927 truly delightful. Bill Bryson did a great job of telling about this one summer - 1927. He told it in such an interesting, funny, almost gossipy way that I was thoroughly engrossed. He told me all the tidbits that I wanted to know. This was really a different book than any I have ever read. Much was happening in the field of aviation. Charles Lindbergh popularity was of celebrity proportions. This was a fun book, and the first time I'd read Bill Bryson. I see why people like his writing, as I enjoyed his humorous interjections throughout the book. Although everything he writes about has a connection to something that occurs in the summer of 1927, the book really is an interesting overview of life and culture in America in the 1920s. And Bryson makes it fun, so even if history isn't your thing you would probably still enjoy it.
