Maguire had a very good idea here, but I wish he was a bit more focused in his story-telling. I wasn't the hugest fan of the shifts in narrators, and there was plenty in the book that I think could have been left out. I thought that the character development was lacking in some areas (Galinda's shift into Glinda, for instance). I think with a good editing job, the book would be much more enjoyable for me.
