What Members Thought

It took me well over the first 100 pages to suspend disbelief, but once into the lapinomorphic view of the world, I began to see just how well this book is crafted. The characters are well thought out, the story/allegory can be enjoyed on more than one level, even the classical references at the beginning of each chapter are well fitted. No cutesy bunny rabbits here (well, maybe a couple) but a thoroughly believable tale of some rabbits and what they endure in search of their new home.

Just read this one for the first time and I'm really glad I did. It was really interesting to see how the various rabbits approached forming their own society. This is one I wish I had read in school-I think the discussion would have been really interesting.

Rabbits, rabbit-speak, warrens and an extended metaphor (fellow English majors? Am I getting that right?) to the Jews struggle to elude the Nazi's in WWII. I mean, c'mon. Who doesn't want to read about rabbits when that's how it's framed? Amazing stuff.
