I am seriously displeased with the killing off of one of the characters. That said, I did enjoy this book. Very fast moving, well imagined, and engaging. Off to book 2.
Had to start reading this one thanks to the HBO series. It took my simple mind a while to sort through all the characters, but it was worth it. The plot took me by surprise several times, and I certainly have my favorite characters. This one is responsible for several loads of unwashed laundry and several sinksfull of dishes (my own rating system) - loved it!
I know this is an older book and all the fuss is now over the television show, which I have not seen, but I loved this book. It is a classic tale of Kings and knights and swords and treachery. The writing is amazing and the details bring the story to life. I can not wait to see what happens in the next book!
Slow to start but so good once I got into it.
