I like chick lit. I do. But I can not read the Shopaholic books without getting so angry I can't see straight.
If a person is a compulsive eater, is it cute and funny to see how they get into silly jams when they can't stop themselves from shoveling in more food? If a person is an alcoholic, do we want to see them meet a Prince Charming who will give them access to all the Scotch they can drink? No.

Not awful, but not really enjoyable. If you're less bothered by overconsumption, lying, shallowness, gender stereotypes, and ridiculous portrayals of women (not to mention HORENDOUS abuse of personal finance) you can probably find it more enjoyable. There were funny bits, but most of it was embarrasing i thought. I did really enjoy the mindlessness though. Sometimes it's worthwhile to put your brain on pause. I may read the next one for that reason.

Read this book years ago, just when the Shopaoholic series starting to get more attention. Reminds me of Bridget Jones, but this time the heroine has problem with her shopping habit besides the general life problem (though some might argue that's not too far of a difference). An interesting read for those never read of the series.
