It started off with a rather inert telly prologue that nevertheless had a cool premise--this novel is a mixture of historical (Georgian England) and paranormal (shape-shifters into dragons) romance, and does have some imaginative elements. The titular heroine, Rue, is a jewel thief. Very cool premise to this book. Drakon (Dragons) surviving in human form and able to change to smoke (Poof!) and then to dragon at their leisure. How wonderful.

This book really is a romance though. It is done pretty well for a romance but still.... a romance. Character acquisition is not bad. Loved the descriptions of the scenery.

Overall, good to ok book but not sure I will read more in the series.
