I feel mixed on this one, the sixth book I've read from the Suspense portion of The Ultimate Reading List. It read very quickly, easy reading with short chapters and while the style is far from literary, it compares well against the likes of Dan Brown, James Patterson or Harlan Coben. I know some reviews complained of the style, citing in particular the use of the juvenile and jerky phrase "bodacious ta-tas" to describe the love interest. Adam Cassidy couldn't care less about his job. Manipulating the system, he gets the company to pay for an extravagant retirement party for a co-worker, someone he doesn't really know, and gets caught. He's given an ultimatum - face prison or become a spy in a rival company.

With fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants training, he's fed inside information, is taught how to dress, is given unlimited resources and funds ... things couldn't be better. Finally, he has the money to take better care of his ailing

The ending was not well defined. The upside is you can create your own ending for the story. I really enjoyed the book.

So I finally finished this book last night. I really liked it. When I read espionage books they are always the traditional foreign country spy books. This is the first corporate espionage book but it will not be the last.

This book was non-stop, action-packed excitement all the way. It felt like watching that first season of 24, where after every episode, you had to immediately watch the next just to find out what happened next. Every single chapter was like that... and you won't believe the surprise twist ending. ...more
