I was much more interested in the relationship between Sherlock Holmes and Mary Russel than I was in the cases that they solved. Unfortunately, my attention kept wandering. Not surprising, since I am not a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. (The true fan would probably LOVE this novel.)

Amazingly engaging beginning with a disclaimer by the 'author' to being merely the person who found the diaries of Mary and publishing them during a dry period in her own writing. So far I'm enjoying the witty dialogue plus a new-to-me entry in the Sherlock oeuvre since reading Carol Nelson's books.
