Excellent book. Entertaining and engaging without becoming fluffy.
So many books treat the female main characters as vapid or over-the-top. If they are not, then these women become the polar opposite: harsh, unyielding, stiff, and numb to the world. Golden struck a balance with his female characters, diving into the subtleties of human interaction with cautious abandon.
