Although not the laugh-out-loud humor that I expected, David Sedaris's collection of essays both captured my imagination and conjured up memories of my own childhood that I hadn't even realized I had forgotten.

I think many of Sedaris' personal vignettes in this book were both poignant and laugh-out-loud hilarious. Yet, other times, they were disjointed, a little confusing and rambling for my taste. So, I definitely had to take this book in small, incremental doses. Overall though, I enjoyed his biting yet witty writing and can see why he's a huge favorite among a lot of people I know.
