A friend loaned me three books from this series and having read the first one, I am in LUV. Really great mystery, excellent characters, solid descriptive powers, and the protagonist is my kinda guy. As the love interest says, “a thug.” Hahaha

Sometimes you read a book and you become fast friends with a character. I rather felt that way about this book's hero and narrator, Cliff Janeway, by the time I got halfway through the novel. I suppose that's because it's hard for me not to fall for a fellow bibliophile. The mystery involves the world of rare and used books, and the author himself owned such a bookstore, and it was hard not to be won over before the story even started by the author's forward, "Then and Now" when he inveighs agai
