My quick thoughts: This was a pretty miserable read... the subject is depressing, the writing is just ok, the copyediting was once again bad. The world will stick with me, so in that way it was successful. But I don't know why I put myself through this emotionally traumatic experience. I did not find the tenets of Earthseed all that enlightening, if that was meant to be part of the goal. "Make America Great Again" is a politician's slogan, so that was eerily prescient.

I started this a few years ago, then the horrid orange one was elected and this little prophetic dystopian gem started hitting a little too close to home. I was too anxious and upset by the parallel with current events to finish. I put it aside and was finally able to finish this year.
I can't recommend Ms. Butler's work enough. I've tried to space out her novels over the last several years since "discovering" her. But, alas, I'm almost done. Guess it's time to start re-reading!
