Ok, this was another great work by Heinlein. At least for me, it made me wonder. Mike, though I had my doubts, will go down as one of my favorite Heinlein characters. Though through some of the story, I was afraid it was going to go from treading on the edge of risque, into the deep end, Heinlein held his ground by never crossing the line. A great insight into spirituality I think.

Meh. My main question is whether the Left Hand of Darkness, which was published later but shares many similarities to this novel, was in part a response to its conception of gender. I'm pretty sick of people mindlessly expounding about how women want only to be pretty and objectified. But this seems to be the curse of reading almost anything.
