What Members Thought
I've wanted to read this book for a long time. It has a slightly different feel than Jon Krakauer's "Into the Wild" because of his personal involvement on the Everest expedition. His strong writing skills still shine through and I can see how the events would haunt him. I also understand his critics, especially the families of those who perished in 1996 on the mountain. I knew nothing about mountaineering when I started this book. It really opened my eyes to the sport; I get it now, though couldn't do it myself. A great read.
