What Members Thought
This book should be titled: "Persig's Ego Trip Surrounded by Lots of Gobbly-Gook and a Few Minute Nuggets of Wisdom." In my opinion, it was not worth the time it took to read. I forced myself to finish but really wish I had used my precious reading time for better things. It sounds like the motorcycle/camping/hiking trip could have been fun. Since I am familiar with some of the areas they were in, I enjoyed reading about them. I also thought it interesting how Persig used motorcycle maintenance/

Holy crap! This book was hard work- I know the writer was an extremely clever guy, and this book was a phenomenon when it came out in the 70's, but it just made me angry.

My boyfriend gave me this book as I was leaving for a semester to study abroad because he read it when he was studying in a different country and he really liked how it was about traveling and finding inner peace. I desperately tried to like it. It was difficult to like, and many times I wanted to put it down and tell him it just wasn't for me. I don't know what it was about it but I just really didn't want to read it most of the time.
