I thought this book would be less impersonal that it was, I thought it would be more focused on personal experience rather on historical events. I'm a history buff, so I found most of the beginning fascinating, regardless, just a little let down. I have to point out that it gets even BETTER when the writer narrates her experiences from her own point of view. She really comes into her own.
