You know when you’re on a long train ride and the stranger next to you starts telling you their very detailed tragic life story? That’s what this book felt like. Eventually, you get invested cause the person has had an interesting life and is well spoken but there’s not much of an arc or a structure there to keep you listening, the details are too many and too irrelevant and if the person were to get off at any stop, you wouldn’t feel like the story was left unfinished. I loved this book. It is one of the best I've read all year. Walls writing style is hard hitting, ironic, and unbelievably clever. It had me laughing out loud. Her writing style is literary fiction for sure.
