A really good read. The author takes sensuality to a whole new level. The broad outline of the story, the development of the character's aberrant genius, his decent into obsessive, selfish gluttony to emerge as a true monster - ones whose abilities and goals are not rationally explained evoking an almost primal, atavistic terror, his magical transformation into a messiah and then self-destruction.
